Where’s Molly by H.D. Carlton

A Cat & Mouse Duet spinoff

Rating: 4/5

Spice: 3/5

Plot: 4/5

Primary Genre: Dark Romance

Trigger Warnings: See author website here

Blurb: “Molly Devereaux has been missing for more than two weeks, and police are still searching for the girl who seemed to vanish out of thin air. The world still wants to know... Where's Molly?”

In my dreams, I never escaped the Oregon woods.

Life after death isn't easy to accept, especially when I still feel like a ghost.

Now, I live deep in the mountains of Montana—the paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors.

Horrors that I only unleash at night.

When my pigs are allowed to feast.

It is strongly recommended to read Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline before reading Where's Molly.

Important Note: This is a dark romance that contains dark subject matter. Please refer to the author's website for content warnings

The Good:

* This book made me want more of this storyline in general. More Molly, Zade, Addie. Any of it, really. I can’t wait for Phantom to come out in January!

* This book brings Rio back into our lives as Molly was in the same house as Addie (it was her diary that Addie found). I missed his character. One thing that I would love from this storyverse is a Rio book. I’d love to hear his story and hear what happens to him.

* Molly’s story is a great read and it contains tons of revenge, which is my favorite. Especially in books like this with tons of rotten antagonists.

The Meh:

* This was short and sweet so there isn’t really much to complain about.

Bottom Line:

If you’re nervous to read this after Hunting Adeline, don’t be. This is much less dark. The storyline is no cakewalk but it leaves out the disturbing graphic stuff that Hunting “went there” with. All in all. this is a great book and I wouldn’t skip over this one if you read the cat and mouse duet. Even if you haven’t read them, you’ll probably still like this. It left me thoroughly excited for the release of Phantom next month, it’s a great quick read to squeeze in before the end of the year and a perfectly twisted dark romance.
