"Ready or not, rabbit, here I come"

Lex
The moment I open the car door and see her sweet face, I know I'm making a mistake. By offering to give me a ride, so is she. I spot the rabbit’s foot hanging from the rear-view mirror. It's not her lucky day.

I take her with me as I run from the law. Despite being a felon and a documented sociopath, I only mean for Selena to be a ride to the border. But somewhere along the way she stirs up feelings I've long thought myself incapable of.

She's my rabbit, my sweet little bunny, and I need to teach her how to run from me so I can catch her and show her what it's like to be devoured by the predator she should be afraid of.

Danger lurks in every corner, and the risk of getting caught grows by the day. What will I do once she takes me to my destination? Will I let her go or do something much worse? Can we find some way to stay together when the world wants to pull us apart?

The Good:

* Kinks and smut galore. This book explores just about everything you could imagine. If you’ve got a question, this book can probably answer it. There’s smut in about every chapter if I recall correctly. I was wondering how they ever made it anywhere on their road trip, to be honest.

* If you love a dominant and possessive MMC who can put it down and treat the kitty right, Lex is the man for the job. Forget touch her and die, more like think about her and die.

* It’s nice to see Selena get some of her power back after being beaten down by her husband for so many years. Being kidnapped by Lex seems to take her to a breaking point that leaves her stronger than she’s ever been and I love to see a little girl power in a dark romance.

The Meh:

* I understand Lex’s dual persona with Lexington is a Jekyll/Hyde vibe. Lexington aka Hyde is a really demented dude. While I didn’t find anything triggering because at this point in my dark romance reading journey, I feel like nothing can phase me, I did feel like certain actions that Lexington took detracted from the enjoyment of reading this story. With that being said, I don’t feel that his bad behavior was being romanticized. What was being romanticized was the fact that he wanted to fight off his Lexington persona and stay Lex for Selena which is really sweet in a twisted and fucked up way. After all, isn’t that what dark romance is?

* While Selena did come into her own quite a bit in this book, towards the end she continued to do some dumb shit which was so irritating. I don’t want to give anything away obviously but after hanging around a felon for so long you’d think she’d get a bit wiser.

* I honestly thought at any moment that Selena would announce that she is pregnant with the amount of raw dogging that was going on in this book without any discussion of birth control. Wildly unrealistic to never have a conversation about that with the amount of banging that is happening.

Bottom Line:

Make absolutely sure that you check your trigger warnings before you pick this book up because the MMC is morally black and does some things that some women will most certainly find offensive. If you have essentially no triggers, get ready to meet a super sexy and psychotic MMC who’s about to take you on the ride of your life and make you think that picking up a hitchhiker might just be worth it. Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde have nothing on Lex & Lexington and their battle over Selena. Selena seems to be more than happy with both of them which works out nice for their psychotic relationship.
