Pity Pact (Pity #3) by Whitney Dineen
This is my first Whitney Dineen novel. MC is from a small town in Wisconsin and we love a good Midwest plot since I live in South Dakota. Our MC Paige Holland is a middle school math teacher who has signed up for a reality show called Midwest Matchmaker, which is being filmed in her home town of Elk Lake, Wisconsin.
Kismet by Gab Tuls
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley. This book was a quick and fun read. Our 24 year old MC Tracey's life is kind of falling apart. Does she get on track or enter into her villain era? In the vein of the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books I read and loved as a kid, this book presents a similar idea but with some spice!
Below Zero (The STEMinist Novellas #3) by Ali Hazelwood
Last book of this novella series, realistically they could have all been combined into one book. Hannah' and Ian's story is another dual timeline, taking place at CalTech/NASA and Norway. Ian is actually Mara's cousin (Mara is from book 1), which I thought was a cute tie in.
Stuck with You (The STEMinist Novellas #2) by Ali Hazelwood
This is the first Ali story that I felt very meh about. The characters weren't well developed, weren't really likable, and the ending felt a little bit like someone slapped a sticker on it that said "done".
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
This is my first Ali Hazelwood book and I loved it! Let me say, my seasonal depression needed this! The characters are so well thought out and the cringey moments are so cringe. It was delightfully funny, had just the right amount of steaminess imo, and I absolutely loved the storyline.
The Last Phone Booth In Manhattan by Beth Merlin and Danielle Modafferi
This book is an absolute gem. This book begins like a happy ending to a Hallmark Christmas movie and and the life of our MC Avery Lawrence takes a steep turn into nowhereland. She manages to go from riches to rags in a matter of a day.
The Housemaid by Freida McFadden
I started this book today and I finished this book today. What a page turner! The opening hooks you immediately and I could not wait to find out what happened. What a WILD freaking ride this book is.
The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling
This book has been on my book shelf for like 2 months and I'm so excited to have finally cracked it open! This book lands us in a charming mountain town in Georgia that is giving off Halloweentown/Gilmore Girls/Good Witch/Hogwarts vibes.
The Paleontologist by Luke Dumas
Let me begin by saying that I won this book as an advanced reader copy in a Goodreads giveaway. This book is not something that I would normally gravitate towards but I found the description very intriguing. Ok, now that we've got that out of the way, this book is the best one I've read in months.
The Book of Magic by Alice Hoffman - Book #2 in the Practical Magic Series
I think that it's pretty obvious that I had a hard time getting into this book, considering how long it took me to post this. I felt that once again, it started very slow. Kylie and Antonia are grown up and VINCENT returns!
Fall TBR
I'm currently finishing up the last book of the Practical Magic Series, The Book of Magic by Alice Hoffman (I'm having a hard time getting into it). Then I'm finishing Book 4 in the witches of Thistle Grove series: In Charm's Way by Lana Harper, which I forced myself to stop reading until I can finish The Book of Magic.
